NeedA nationwide discount retailer wanted to more accurately analyse the stock levels within over 500 stores. The retailer needed the technology and staff for large scale quarterly stocktakes. Due to the use of auto ordering accuracy was paramount to the retailer.

SolutionThey partnered with RGIS to complete 330 stores across the UK including:
- Quarterly wall to wall stocktakes to ensure stock accuracy every 8 – 13 weeks by our local teams
- Dedicated Supervisors with customer specific online training which was completed before running a stocktake. Procedures updated weekly during initial on boarding
- Recruitment and instore training for core dedicated team
- Regular Account Manager attendance to ensure all processes were adhered to
- Tablet checking developed from initial RDA checks to targeted department checks and random checks— minimum 30% of areas checked
- Tablet based variance checks for increased accuracy; this started as one big list and developed to targeted department checks by value, decreasing check time while increasing accuracy
- Staffing reduced to max 3 per store (CIRCA 30/40 previously) and 1 manager attendance per year down from 4
- Dashboard development for analytics
Results:Increased accuracy was achieved and a reduction in overstocks due to more accurate counts.
