We recruit locally through 23 regional districts and work with specialist partners. These include PeoplePlus, Serco, Get Set, Street League, Seetec and Ingeus, supporting candidates who may face barriers to work. We also hold the SRAG (Social Recruitment Advisory Group) Silver Charter, reflecting our commitment to fair recruitment.

SKILLS, TRAINING AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT

We invest in structured induction, mandatory safety training and ongoing development. Progression is supported through regular reviews, with many supervisory and leadership roles filled internally. Training and compliance are tracked through cloud systems to maintain consistent standards nationwide.

We support local economies by recruiting locally and operating through district hubs, reducing unnecessary travel. Our RGIS UK charity fund helps colleagues support causes that matter, including children’s hospitals, food and essentials donations, youth projects and cancer charity fundraising.

ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY AND DECARBONISATION

We are taking measurable steps towards Net Zero, focusing on fleet, travel and resource use. We are committed to transitioning all fleet vehicles to electric vans and cars by 2028, supported by fleet/GPS systems that optimise journeys and promote safe driving. Cloud-based delivery enables over 90% paperless reporting, reducing waste and consumables.

Governance, Equality and Ethical Practice

    Strong governance ensures we operate fairly, safely and transparently. We uphold EEO and diversity commitments and align with legislation including the Equality Act 2010, supported by cloud-based compliance for risk assessments, health screening and incident reporting. We also publish our gender pay gap annually and operate under a Code of Conduct and key policies.

Measurement, Reporting and Improvement

We track outcomes that matter, including partner-led recruitment, training completion, internal progression, fleet transition and paper reduction, plus community initiatives supported. Performance feeds into ESG and tender reporting, and the strategy is reviewed biennially to keep pace with expectations and best practice.
