One of the world’s largest and most experienced producer of ground calcium carbonates (GCC) required the support of RGIS. The company operates three limestone quarries and four mineral processing plants producing within Australia.
THE CHALLENGE
The industrial mineral producer needed an inventory of all spare parts and assets across multiple sites, so required RGIS to provide the following:
- Complete a count of all spare parts at each of the two sites
- Complete a count of all assets including asset verification at each of the two sites
- Identify items that could not be counted or identified

RGIS developed new software in order to capture all the relevant data including imagery requested by the customer
Experienced RGIS teams counted all spare parts and assets in the locations, and followed the scanning procedure, capturing all the required data and taking photographs
RGIS teams identified assets that were inconsistent with reporting, which were logged and resolved by the customer
Results
The industrial mineral producer found by outsourcing the spare parts and asset audit to RGIS, the following results were achieved:
Teams accurately counted 1,346 assets across two sites
Results were provided in two parts; in Microsoft Excel and photographs
The customer received an updated and accurate asset register
The customer was very happy with the RGIS teams and will be working with RGIS again in the future
