The energy company are one of the global leaders in the wind energy sector, manufacturing, installing and maintaining wind turbines in the onshore and offshore segments.
THE CHALLENGE
The renewable energy company needed a solution to control and audit all spare materials left at wind farms across Brazil, so required RGIS to provide the following:
- Nationwide coverage to provide the service to 34 wind farms in various regions of Brazil
- Complete accurate audits of spare materials at all wind farms
- Carry out physical surveys of all wind farms
- Adhere to the strict health and safety measures at all locations

The renewable energy company partnered with RGIS to complete the wind farm survey and audit project, and RGIS provided the following:
Scheduled a team of two experienced RGIS auditors, for the duration of five days
Ensured the relevant certifications and documents were obtained to ensure safety of colleagues, and specific procedures were followed for all wind farms
Validated any discrepancies with reporting to the customer
RGIS developed an application that automatically delivered the audit results to the customer and solved the customer’s problem of controlling materials in the field
Results
The renewable energy company found by outsourcing wind farm survey and audit project to RGIS, the following results were achieved:
RGIS teams accurately audited approximately 25,000 SKUs
All materials in the wind farms were identified and reported to the customer
Control points were defined to avoid waste and possible deviations
Excess materials that could expire were also identified during the audit, so the customer was then able to reuse the materials at other sites and better measure requirements for additional materials
The customer saved more than £480,000 in the acquisition of new materials
The customer was very satisfied with the service received, and will complete this process at least once a year with RGIS
