A large car manufacturer’s distributor in Panama, that have seven dealerships and one distribution centre, required the support of RGIS. The large car manufacturer employs about 75,000 people worldwide and sells vehicles in 193 countries through 5,000 dealerships and showrooms.
THE CHALLENGE
The car manufacturer’s distributor required RGIS to provide the following:
- Experience within the automotive industry
- To count all parts for all models of vehicle within a distribution centre
- All variances to be identified and reported
- Reduce the length of audit time down from current in-house time of five days
- High quality and accuracy to be a priority

Our Solutions
The car manufacturer’s distributor partnered with RGIS to complete the auto parts stock count project, and provided the following:
RGIS scheduled a team of 50 experienced auditors for the duration of two days
All validation files were received the day before the event
Scanned all barcodes on blue labels with manufacturer’s logo as requested by the customer
Any items with no barcode had a barcode printed and attached to the relevant part
Any variances were verified by an RGIS auditor and the customer
Results
The car manufacturer’s distributor found by outsourcing the auto parts stock count project to RGIS, the following results were achieved:
Efficiently counted a total of 150,000 items within the distribution centre
Accuracy of over 98% for the total stock count
Provided the verified results electronically immediately to the customer after the count was completed
Reduced the time of the audit from five days when completed down to two days by RGIS
The customer was very happy with the performance and is now working with RGIS in multiple environments
