Book Distributor’s Inaugural Warehouse Count
A book distributor situated in Brazil required the support of RGIS. The book distributor stock a wide range of books from Animals and Anthropology to Tourism and Umbanda.
REQUIREMENTS
The book distributor needed to perform a warehouse inventory to update current stock quantities, so required RGIS to provide the following:
- Complete a full stock count of the warehouse
- No disruption to business
- Accurate reporting to be provided
SOLUTION
The book distributor partnered with RGIS to complete the wall-to-wall warehouse book count project, and RGIS provided the following:
- Scheduled a team of 20 experienced RGIS auditors
- Organised two 8-hour shifts to complete the count outside working hours
- All books in the warehouse were counted by barcode
- Where the barcode was not registered on the system, it was subsequently added
RESULTS
The book distributor found by outsourcing the wall-to-wall warehouse book count project to RGIS, the following results were achieved:
- Accurately counted just under 170,000 items
- All stock quantities were accurately updated on the customer’s system, including financial values
- The customer was very satisfied with the accuracy of the counts, it being the first inventory they had had completed
