    Cencosud S.A. is a publicly traded multinational retail company. The largest retail company in Chile, the third largest listed retail company in Latin America, and one of the largest retail companies in the region. The company has more than 1045 stores in Latin America, a multi-format retail with a presence in five countries and with more than 140 thousand employees.

    THE CHALLENGE

    The customer required RGIS to provide the following:

    • Coverage across multiple countries
    • The capacity to be able to complete 250 stores
    • Completion within a time frame of two months in the last quarter of the year
    • Identify variances to existing asset register

    Why RGIS?

    Cencosud needed a solution to count the assets within the retail stores and identify variances across multiple countries.

    Our Solutions

    Cencosud partnered with RGIS to complete the retail asset count project, and provided the following:

    • Scheduled a team of three experienced RGIS auditors per store

    • Asset counts completed daily at multiple stores

    • All assets in each store were counted and reported on

    • Variances were reported in comparison to the existing asset register of expected quantities and locations

    Results

    Cencosud found by outsourcing the retail asset count project to RGIS, the following results were achieved:

    • All store assets were counted within the requested two month time frame

    • A total of 55,096 assets were counted across 250 stores

    Conclusion

    The customer was now aware of all assets, and is able to transfer items if required to other locations, rather than over ordering assets.
