    THE CHALLENGE

    The customer required RGIS to provide the following:

    • Three separate logistic company distribution centres to be counted
    • All counts to be validated by internal warehouse staff
    • Accuracy to be a priority

    The consumer goods company needed a solution to count inventory in multiple distribution centres managed by different logistic companies.

    The consumer goods company partnered with RGIS to complete the multiple logistic distribution centre count project, and RGIS provided the following:

    • Distribution Centre One:

    • In the biggest distribution centre, RGIS assigned a team of 48 experienced auditors

    • Divided the project into three shifts over four days

    • The following two days, in view of the counting progress, the RGIS team was reduced from 48 to 25 experienced auditors

    • The last day it was reduced further to 10 experienced auditors

    • Distribution Centre Two:

    • Counting was completed by a team of five RGIS experienced auditors in one day

    • Distribution Centre Three:

    • Counting was completed by a team of nine RGIS experienced auditors in one day

    Results

    By outsourcing the multiple logistic distribution centre count project to RGIS, the following results were achieved:

    • All three separate logistic company distribution centres, holding the customers stock, were successfully counted

    • Both the customer and the logistics companies were pleased with the accuracy of the results
