A supply chain management company that provides customised supply chain management solutions, and the transportation and delivery of store-ready fashion garments to locations across Australia, required the support of RGIS. The company with nearly forty years of industry experience, have developed solutions that guarantee to get their clients stock processed and in-store, both on-time while on budget.

REQUIREMENT

The supply chain management company needed a solution to count stock within a warehouse utilising existing warehouse staff, so required RGIS to provide the following:

  • Using existing warehouse staff to capture stocktake data
  • Warehouse staff to be trained in stocktaking
  • Accuracy levels to be high
  • Identify any variances

SOLUTION

The supply chain management company partnered with RGIS to complete the warehouse stock count with internal staff project, and RGIS provided the following:

  • One RGIS Supervisor and 25 scanners for five days
  • Warehouse staff were trained in how to use the scanners correctly
  • Scanner operating manuals were also provided
  • RGIS Supervisor completed random location quantity checking during the count
  • Reports were generated at the end of each day to monitor progress, and analyse any major variances which needed attention

RESULTS

The supply chain management company found by outsourcing the warehouse stock count with internal staff project to RGIS, the following results were achieved:

  • Bins: 13,759
  • SKUs: 33,601
  • Units: 390,895
  • Stock level counted was higher than expected with a variance identified of over 34,684 units (9.7%)
  • This stock count provided much more accurate details of what stock was actually located at the warehouse, which enabled a more organised stock file to ensure the customers clients’ needs were met
