A vehicle logistics company operates a major vehicle import hub in Italy, handling cars in transit from the Far East into Central/Southern Europe. Over recent months, they faced challenges with their stock management, specifically with accurately tracking vehicles entering and leaving the hub. This caused inefficiencies, making it difficult to locate vehicles and delaying the delivery process.

RGIS provided a comprehensive vehicle audit over two days, involving 42 staff members across the two days. The team scanned over 28,000 vehicles using RM3 technology, capturing each vehicle’s identification number (VIN or chassis barcode) and checking its position in the parking area.
The solution involved:
- Day 1: 27 RGIS staff auditing the vehicle stock and checking vehicle positions.
- Day 2: 15 RGIS staff finalising the audit and ensuring all discrepancies were resolved.
- Special safety equipment, reflective vests and shoes were used throughout the audit.
Using RM3 devices and tablets, the team worked efficiently to not only count vehicles but also ensure that each one was correctly located, helping the vehicle logistics company resolve stock discrepancies and improve their dispatching process.
