RGIS UK raises £152 for Action Medical Research

"We would encourage anyone and everyone to put 28 June in their diary so that they can take five minutes to enjoy a delicious snack, knowing that their kind donations will be helping to save tiny lives."

Last year the campaign raised more than £55,000.

Approximately 9,470 boxes were individually packed by volunteers and sent out across the UK. 

The delivery included roughly 18,940 scones, 9,470 teabags, 379kg of Clotted Cream and more than 1,000kg of strawberry jam to give supporters everything they needed for the perfect afternoon pick-me-up.

Action Medical Research has been funding medical breakthroughs since it began in 1952 including helping to introduce the first polio vaccines in the UK, developing the use of ultrasound in pregnancy and testing the rubella vaccine.

The charity is currently funding research into conditions including asthma, prematurity, epilepsy, meningitis, cerebral palsy, brain cancer and some rare and distressing conditions.
